AFSCME Local 189 Contract Voting Information October 12-19 2017

AFSCME bargaining team members will be taking voting boxes to all worksites between Thursday, October 12th and Thursday, October 19th.

Any AFSCME member in good standing can vote at any worksite.

AFSCME members can also vote at AFSCME, 6025 E Burnside, from 9am-5pm weekdays between the 12th and the 18th, and from 9am-4:30pm on the 19th.

If you work a schedule that starts or ends before 5am or after 8pm, please email us so we can accommodate you.

Only members in good standing can vote. We will have membership cards that you can sign on the spot to qualify for voting.


Before voting, read comparison documents (overview, detailed summary, selective increase proposals) for the City’s Last, Best and Final Offer (LBFO) and our DCTU’s LBFO. Review our 2013-2017 contract.


WE URGE YOU TO REJECT THE CITY’S LAST, BEST AND FINAL OFFER AND TO AUTHORIZE A STRIKE!


Thursday, October 12, 2017
David McCune and Jacob Brostoff will be taking ballots to the following worksites:

6:30am-7:15am: Guilds Lake. Site steward contact is Phil Choate.

8:15am-9:15am: ONI NE 47th & E Burnside/Penumbra Kelly Building. Site steward contact is Laurel Shepard.

1pm-1:45pm: Police Evidence. Site steward contact is Amie Shaffer.

2:30pm-3:15pm: Survey Field office/Materials Testing Lab. Site steward contact is Steve Metke.

Rob Martineau and Bruce Bulick will be taking ballots to the following worksites:

6:15am-7:15am: Sandy River Station. Site steward contact is Bruce Bulick.

8:00am-8:30am: Headworks. Site steward contact is Bruce Bulick.


Monday, October 16th
Rob Martineau and Rich Thallheimer will be collecting ballots at the following worksites:

Police Training Division voting has been moved to Thursday, October 19th.

9:30am: BOEC, PBEM, PWB Security

11:00am: Parks Bureau-Mt. Tabor Yard-SE 60th and Division

1:00pm: Bureau of Maintenance, CityFleet

2:30pm: Fire Bureau sites


Tuesday, October 17th

6:30am-8:30am: Connie Jones and Rob Martineau will be collecting ballots at the 1900 Building-Development Services Center.

7:00am-1:00pm: Kim Gates and David McCune will be collecting ballots in the Portland Building Lobby.

2:30pm-4:30pm:  Mark Gipson and Rob Martineau will be collecting ballots at the Portland Water Bureau Interstate facility.


Wednesday, October 18th

6:30am-8:30am: Mark Gipson, Connie Jones and Rob Martineau will be collecting ballots at the CH2M Center.

6:30am-4:00pm: Kim Gates and Mary Prottsman will be collecting ballots in the Justice Center lobby.

10:00am-2:00pm: Mark Gipson and David McCune will be collecting ballots at the Columbia Center.

2:00pm-4:00pm: Mark Gipson and David McCune will be collecting ballots at worksites with under 10 employees in Downtown.

Drop in: Rob Martineau and Rob Wheaton will be dropping in to Family Services, East Precinct, and other worksites.


Thursday, October 19th

6:15am-7:45am: Jacob Brostoff and David McCune will be collecting ballots at Guilds Lake and Police Property and Evidence.

Drop in: Kim Gates and Rob Martineau will be dropping in to Police Training (moved from 10/16), North Precinct and the Columbia Boulevard Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Drop in: Bruce Bulick and Rich Thallheimer will be dropping in to Delta Park, Portland Streetcar and Portland Housing Bureau.

4:30PM Balloting closes.

5:00PM Ballot counting begins.
